ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. It is an individualized approach that teaches useful skills in small, manageable steps and measures progress over time.
Your child’s program may focus on learning to request help, communicate needs, follow routines, play with others, complete daily tasks, and replace unsafe or disruptive behaviors with safer skills.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst develops and supervises the treatment plan. A trained Registered Behavior Technician works directly with your child during one-to-one sessions.

Your child does not need to be fully verbal or toilet trained to contact us. Our intake team will review your child’s age, diagnosis status, insurance, location, and scheduling needs.

What ages do you serve?
Do you provide in-home ABA therapy?
No. Shining Star Clinic currently provides center-based ABA therapy at our Silver Spring location.
Does my child need an autism diagnosis?
Most insurance plans require a qualifying autism diagnosis and supporting clinical documents before ABA therapy can be authorized. Contact us if your child has a diagnosis, has an evaluation scheduled, or you are unsure what documents you have.
Do you diagnose autism?
No. Shining Star Clinic provides ABA therapy but does not complete autism diagnostic evaluations. We can explain what documents are generally requested for intake.
Do you accept Maryland Medicaid?
